Despite Abundance of Morg Mart Y-Studs, YU Students Want MoreMaccabeats could spell the end of all Jews.

In a shocking turn of events today, letters covered the walls of the main Beit Midrash of Glueck today urging those talmidim who were dating, engaged or married to not attend the YU annual Chanukah concert on Thursday night.

The letter, signed by 16 of the YU Roshei Yeshiva, warned of the destruction it could do to relationships. "Right now the Maccabeats are just too good. They are making girls swoon. In order to preserve the Shalom Bayis of all the mishpochos, it is advised that no couples attend." Instead, the Roshei Yeshiva are advising a mass learning session in the Beit Midrash/a tehillim session in Stern to pray for the sanctity of couples, and a detraction of the attractiveness of the Maccabeats.

The letter continues, "No couple, no matter how much they love each other or how many years they have been married, should feel secure. Unless the male of the couple is a Talmid Chacham, has a British or French accent, or is an athlete (which there has yet to be found on the YU campus) can a couple feel safe attending the concert."

One student who wishes to remain nameless has already suffered the consequences. Engaged to the love of his life, the mere sight of one of the lesser Maccabeats looking resplendent in the street caused his fiancé to dump him on the spot, claiming he "just wasn’t good enough." The Roshei Yeshivot’s letter went on to defame the video, calling it "equivalent to pornography, and a triumph of the Yetzer Hara itself."

The Maccabeats YouTube video "Candlelight" has so far been seen by over 500,000 two million a handful of people. It is predicted that in the next few days it will reach billions of views, replace Hativka as the national anthem of Israel, and succeed Ma’arei Kohen as the climax of Yom Kippur Mussaf.
